The spec database

Every outdoor sauna we track

15 models from 4 makers, each one a record we built by reading the seller's own page and writing down only what it states. Where a maker stays silent, the dash says so, and our tools skip the record rather than guess.

A dash means the seller does not publish that figure. Prices are the linked seller page price on the date each record shows, before freight.

How well documented this category is

Documentation is the quiet spec. Across the 15 models on this page, 15 of 15 publish a compatible heater range, while only 0 of 15 publish an assembly estimate. A seller who states a figure is inviting comparison, and one who does not is asking you to order first and measure later. Each row above links to the page every number was read from, and a dash marks the questions worth putting to the seller in writing before freight is on the truck.

How to read the field

Three decisions organise everything in the table above, and they are worth taking in order. Shape first, because it sets the geometry of every session you will ever take and the guide linked below argues it properly. Size second, measured in stated interior dimensions rather than seat claims, because seat claims assume postures you may not want. Wood and contents last, because they move the price more than they move the experience. Price itself is a result of the first three, which is why sorting this category by sticker alone reliably buys the wrong thing.

The field right now: 9 barrels, 2 cabins and 1 pod, with 3 records whose sellers state no shape class at all. Every model currently tracked publishes a price, which is unusual for this category: it means the price column below is complete rather than a sample.

One column deserves special attention: whether the heater ships in the base price. The models that include one are quoting you a working sauna. The models that do not are quoting you a wooden room, and the stove, its stones and its circuit are still ahead of you. Neither approach is wrong, but comparing one against the other without noticing is how a bargain stops being one at checkout.

Narrow it down

The size pages compare like against like, with the same verified records filtered by what the makers themselves state.

Not sure where to start

Two tools sit at the decision points. The fit finder takes your party size and pad and checks every footprint above against it. The heater calculator takes a hot room and returns the heaters whose makers rate them for it. Both state what they could not evaluate, because a silent skip would be a guess wearing a uniform.
